Catenary Sensor
25 KV High Voltage Catenary Sensor
The High Voltage Catenary Sensor is intended to indicate the status of the 25KV Catenary used in electric traction. It consists of two parts viz.:
1) Sensor, mounted above the coach
2) Controller-cum-indicator unit
The sensor is connected to the controller-cum-indicator unit through a shielded wire to avoid disturbances from other external sources. The output signal from the sensor is proportional to the magnitude of the Catenary voltage. The Controller-cum-indicator unit receives the output signal from the sensor processes it and offers indication. The presence of caternary voltage is indicated by LEDs, red for the presence and the green for the absence.
The Controller-cum-indicator unit has a built-in facility for sensitivity adjustment. This facility can be used at the site for providing correct indication for the required voltage range and for the distance between the line and sensor
